Fairy kei on a budget: DIY Nile perch sneakers~

Hello once again! Today i'm finally going to make my first DIY post!
So for the longest time, i've always wanted the nile perch converse that are all decorated and such~ But i could never get my self to pay 70 dollars for them just knowing that i could easily make them myself~ Well today i actually did! Now, the converse i have aren't super adorable lavender ones, they're just plain purple , but they still look cute! You can buy cheap pastel converse style shoes from bodyline for a low price of $4!!~ Here's what we are going to recreate:

I didn't have all the stuff to make them exactly the same, so i just put my own twist on it! You can add what you like though~~
You will need:
* A pair of converse or similar canvas shoes
* A thread and needle
* Tacky glue or even super glue
* Lace, ribbons, and any other decorations you want to use

The first thing you want to do is to make sure that your shoes are somewhat clean. Scrub off any dirt with a damp washcloth, and then dry them a little. You can take out the laces if you want to paint some sort of design on them, but i didn't. My shoes just happened to not have laces in them~  You can skip this step  if you bought new shoes just for this, but i'm just using my old gym shoes > <

Next, cut your lace for the trim~ Just wrap it around the top part of the shoe, and cut it to fit! After that, sew the ends of the lace to each side of the sneaker~ You don't have to sew all the way across, and you'll see why in a second. . . Also, it just makes it easier, because the canvas is kind of hard to sew through~

After you've sewn the ends it should look like this! Then just go to the back of the shoe, like at the top in the middle, and sew again~ This way the lace should stay put for the most part~

Now, just take the edges that weren't sewn and use hot glue or tacky glue to make them stay to the edges! Then you are done with the lace~
After that, you can pretty much decorate them with anything! I used little crafting jewels and pink bows! You can just glue them on, but if you want you can sew things on to, like wings, patches, more lace, beads, ect.

i clipped some cute accessories on them from Chocomint and Milky way cute~
I'll have to find some cuter pastel sneakers so experiment with next time, i wanna try putting bunny ears and a tail on. . . Or maye even some wings! Just be creative~~ This was kind of a short tutorial, but it is super easy, and i hope you try it out! I'd like to see what you cuties can make!

Fairy kei on a budget: Fairy kei casual? ( PICTURE HEAVY)

Casual fairy kei is really useful in my opinion~ It's perfect for when you are pressed for time, don't feel like dressing up, or going somewhere where fully dressing up isn't very appropriate~ Casual fairy kei is really easy, and also easy on your budget! Let's go from head to toe!~



Hair accessories: For casual style, hair clips can be pretty simple~ Refrain from wearing a bunch of hair accessories, and make sure they aren't too big~

Minimal hair clips can actually be really cute~ You don't have to wear a head bow, mini hat, tiara, and 15 thousand other hair clips to look cute! The best way to decorate your hair in my opinion, is to wear pigtails or a bun, and one or two hair clips~ Don't worry about wigs~ If you absolutely can't manage without one, wear a natural style and color~ I usually wear my fluffy gabalmania one if i wear a wig to school or for casual style ~ But this is how i usually wear my hair for school:

Jewelry/necklaces: You don't have to wear a bunch of jewelry either, but make sure to have a decent amount to make up for the lack of hair accessories~ You can wear cute vintage necklaces, anything kitschy and pastel~ For earrings, if you wear them, you can just wear studs with a cute motif or small pastel hoops~ Examples for jewelry:

Tops: For tops, it's pretty simple actually~ You can wear t-shirts, sweaters and sweatshirts, cardigans, hoodies, cutsews, and basically anything, well, casual! I love those Holley Tea Time shirts with the ponies i always see!~ They are really cute! Here's some examples for shirts! But, you can wear almost any top, because they are all casual for the most part anyway~

The minnie mouse one is my favorite! Like i said, shirts are easy, you can wear almost anything!~

Bracelets/ bags:
For a bag, i usually carry around a cute tote bag~ But its up to you, because purses really don't have to be super casual. . . And for bracelets, wear only a few cute ones. You don't want to have them going all the way up your arm~

Pants:
For bottoms, you probably want to stay away from tutus. Wear a ruffled skirt, or even pastel jeans or shorts! If you wear a skirt, wear tights or knee socks with it~ That way you still have the layered effect, but without all the stuff.

And last but not least. . . SHOES!~
The obvious choice for shoes is wonderful pastel sneakers! Now i shall spam with super adorable shoes!
